Data Protection Back Up Administrator
(National Capital Reg – Ortigas)

Responsibilities:
The Data Protection Administrator’s role is to maintain a stable, predictable, and scalable backup and recovery environment for the delivery of I.T. solutions.

• Work directly with the global Data Protection lead and establish operating mechanism for weekly communication, strategy, and problem & resolution management.
• Provide operational project level management in the planning, design, and implementation for hardware/software lease refreshes, migrations and new site acquisitions of data protection systems.
• Initiate direct and global communication with a wide range of client, supplier, regulatory, application, architectural, and systems personnel.
• Ensure conformance to established system architecture, methods, regulations, standards and practices and participate in their creation.
• Participate in long range planning and assure consistency with business objectives for resiliency, disaster tolerance, and regulatory compliance.
• Help set the vision for the organization and help define projects to achieve that vision.
• Pre-plan and co-ordinate Disaster recovery plans, exercises, and evaluate and document plan exercise results.
• Develop processes to maintain the currency of continuity and compliance capabilities and the plan document in accordance with the organization’s strategic direction.

Requirements:

* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree , Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
* Minimum of 5 years administration experience with Windows and Solaris Operating Systems.
* Minimum of 3 years administration experience with Symantec NetBackup
* Installing and configuring NetBackup clients and agents
*  Installing and configuring NetBackup master, media servers and agents
* Troubleshooting backup and restore failures using log file analysis
* Command line experience for standard operations typically performed in the Administration console interface
*  Proven interpersonal, written/verbal communication, organizational and leadership skills.
*  Ability to maintain leading edge skills in a rapidly changing environment
* Applicants must be willing to work in Ortigas.
* Preferably Supervisor / 5 Yrs & Up Experienced Employees specializing in Technical & Helpdesk Support or equivalent.

Desired: (Desired Characteristics):

* Extensive work experience with Veritas NetBackup 6.5
* Architecting backup infrastructure solutions
* Working knowledge of Veritas Backup Report (VBR) or NetBackup Operations Manager (NOM)
* Working experience with Oracle, SAP, MS SQL, Veritas File System, Volume Manager
* Architecture and installation experience with Sun/StorageTek tape libraries and Data Domain
* GxP, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory compliance experience
* Experience working in ASP or PACS data Centers
*  Proven Project Management experience
