Purchasing Manager – Makati

* Supervise the functional area of purchasing
* Play a key role in the day to day execution of processes that support the overall strategy for sourcing in the organization
* Oversee day to day functioning of back-office Purchasing Group
* Review sampling of purchase orders to ensure adherence to quality and procedures
* Represent purchasing in discussions and strategies aimed at improving overall integration of purchasing, assets and accounts payable
* Work with Director, peers and staff in the development of a customer-centered work group
* Support Director by providing performance data against key business measures
* Execute mechanisms to measure internal customer satisfaction and works with Supervisors and staff to improve overall levels of customer service
* Monitor functioning of PeopleSoft and other related systems and liaises with applications support staff as appropriate
* Provide guidance to staff in handling employee inquiries and ensures that matters are resolved in a timely manner
* Demonstrate strong working knowledge of PeopleSoft functionality in purchasing and ensures that day to day maintenance gets executed
* Responsible for selecting, training, developing, and managing performance of professional and non-exempt direct reports
* Provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling and coordinating, planning, and assigning work for staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable legal requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 6 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Computer literate
* Must have a strong working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials as it pertains to purchasing
* Knowledge of the corporation’s business and organization, its customers and vendors
* Strong customer-service orientation as demonstrated in previous relevant roles
* Experience in supervising purchasing and/or accounting functional groups ideally within an ERP environment
* Ability to translate purchasing strategies into workable day to day tactics for staff
* Ability to manage relationships with employees and staff in and outside of the organization
* Demonstrated analytical skills to identify problems in business processes and to develop workable solutions that have cross-functional impact
* Experience with supervising staff in a recently consolidated or merged organization
* Leadership skills to motivate staff primarily at the Analyst and Associate level
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
