Data Architect
(Central Luzon, National Capital Reg)

Responsibilities:

* The IT Architect will report to the CTO and work closely with the Senior Enterprise Integration Architect to develop Database models, data sharing designs and Data conversion models.
* The data architect will provide enterprise data models, data schemas and data infrastructure. The data architect will support DHR business analysts, developers and system data. Responsible for coordinating, administering and supporting activities related to data planning, data recovery, system data modeling, data integration and development.

* Responsibilities
o Create technical database design specifications from business and technical requirements. These specifications include the conceptual process flow, data flow diagram, physical data model, data capacity estimates and implementation plan.
o Understand the overall business model; and how the business process and technical systems work within a product or domain.
o Take ownership of certain in-house systems and or product lines in the business, becoming the domain expert.
o For data warehouse create modeling standards, data definitions and mappings providing domain and technical leadership to the data warehouse and ETL team.
o Provide the configuration team with well documented and standardized deployment and rollback scripts.
o Establish policies and procedures for data security, maintenance, data warehouse modeling and utilization in the development, testing, training and production environment across all platforms.
o Establishes consistent data element definitions; define metadata standards and environment to support metadata collection.
o Analyzes and designs models, logical databases and relational data base -definitions.
o Provide data element naming; Performs data modeling studies and develops detailed models.
o Other assignments will involve design and development of logical databases for Data Sources for applications across multiple projects.

* Best-Practices and Successful Work Execution Responsibilities
o Perform design reviews across stakeholders, including product owners, operational and deployment DBAs, Data Architects, and data warehouse consumers ensuring the technical design adheres to group and department standards.
o Teaches junior data architects how to use company systems and standards.
o Attends cross team initiatives, communicate technical issues and their business ramifications.
o Ability to take large scale projects from beginning to completion with minimal or no guidance including analysis, design and technical implementation, and unit test.
o Understand business ramifications of projects and can prioritize accordingly.

* Operational Support Responsibilities
o Create and maintain operations tools and utilities supporting database maintenance and integrity. Support application and operations teams post-deployment.
o Participate in rotating on-call support

Requirements:

* Technical Requirements
o Expert knowledge of SQL
o Good knowledge of PL/SQL.
o Excellent knowledge of SQL performance analysis and tuning
o Data warehouse experience, desirable
o Object oriented programming language, preferably Java, desirable
o Conceptual knowledge of object oriented methodology and how it relates to relational modeling, desirable

* Education, Experience and Personal Requirements
o 10 or more years experience in a application development environment
o 5 or more years working as a Data modeler
o Familiarity with full development and data lifecycles
o Ability to work across organizational boundaries to deliver data solutions to business problems
o Technical expertise and business savvy leading others in data modeling and delivering requirements.
o Strong SQL and database skills
o Excellent oral, written and organization skills
o Self motivated and detailed oriented
o Experience in handling data as a strategic asset for making business decisions.
o Experience creating and expanding data models and data dictionaries for specific applications / databases as well as for the enterprise.
o Experience in creating and managing technical and business meta data about the data stored in databases.
o Experience in finding and managing collaborative opportunities to provide improved integration between integratable but stove piped databases.
o Experience in assessing performance of database processes and recommending data structural and query changes for improvement.
o Experience in managing the life cycle of data; that is from the creation of data to the eventual archiving and / or purging of data
